UPCYCLE WORKSHOP

Discover the beauty of how things can be put together again in a whole new way We seek out the beauty and functionality of discarded objects to create desirable interior products. We reverse the design process by creating from what already exists. And in this workshop we are going to challenge your creativity in doing just that. Ica van Tongeren, the designer of the Switchica modular lamp series, will conduct the workshop.

WHY UPCYCLE?

Our goal is to prevent potential useful material to be wasted by creating new and valuable products out of discarded material. ‘The lifecycle of consumer products – the amount of time between buying and disposing are getting shorter. This ‘Sell more, sell faster’ approach is not sustainable on the long run. It’s important to have an understanding about this. We want to make participants aware of this by presenting them with the selected waste material at hand and a clear task to be completed. At the end of our workshop participants will have an insight on how to create by using multiple and identical items (Modular design). We have given various workshops in New York City and the Netherlands.

The workshops are suited for children from 8 years and higher. Interested in one of our workshop programs?
