At Stretch Sketch they developed a new language (iPath) in Javascript, so you can easier program construction drawings, websites, pictures and a lot more.

As a hobby I like to make furniture and other things of plywood, unfortunately I lack the skill, patience and precision to form cutting neat. A laser cutter or computer-controlled (CNC) router has all that, but for a CNC machine you must provide your drawings again in a given vector format and it is therefore very difficult.

Because I am a professional programmer, I wanted to try to program my plans for the CNC milling machine. That worked but that was quickly boring and before I knew it I had made some sort of new language (iPath) in Javascript programming easier construction panels for CNC machines. The models can be displayed in a web browser. Dimensions and material thickness, height, width of the cut-outs or drawings that are programmed with iPath then adjust individually for example with a slider.

If you have a website, you can use iPath to show pictures, customize and leave or move to script with drawings for CNC equipment. IPath use myself in my own website Stretchsketch.com.

In my workshop I want to show what you can see with iPath and a CNC router, how iPath can use in your website and of course I will also show you how you can draw with iPath figures and how you can move them .

Jeroen gives a lecture about his work on Saturday 20th of August at 16:00 O’Clock. Sign up by Meet Up!
